Entry forms for the season 2007/8 have been published and need to be completed and returned to the controller Cyril Johnson by August 15th. www.mccu.org.uk/countymatches/countiesentryform.doc
If you have any questions, please contact Cyril asap.
Could I take this opportunity to inform you of some new initiatives that I have introduced this year to try to encourage some more entries
1) Each team can specify on its entry form closed dates on which it does not want to have a match. This may be because of 4NCL, Scarborough, a local congress or even because Stoke City are at home!! It doesnt matter as long as you tell us. We guarantee that we will not give you matches on such days.
2) If you ask us to avoid a clash with another team (ie Avoid open and U125 sides playing on the same day) we will guarantee that this clash will not occur - and we will endeavour where possible to not have them playing on consecutive weeks either but can make no guarantee in this regard.
3) If you indicate that you are prepared to share home matches (ie your venue can accommodate two matches simultaneously) then we will endeavour where possible to group your home matches together to share costs.
3) The U175 is likely to be a 2 round jamboree in February / March 2008 but the exact details will be decided after consultation with the entrants. The sending in of a firm entry commits a county topaying a share of any costs incurred, as per the decision of the General Meeting.
If anyone has other ideas as to how to get more teams playing, I'm all ears!
